Description

Asia-Pacific Library and Information Conference 2018, 30 July - 2 August 2018 Gold Coast: Roar Leap Dare

This conference presentation (PowerPoint slides) supports the session on the integration of library instruction into the City University of Hong Kong's curriculum.

In 2012, the Run Run Shaw Library was able to establish a collaborative relationship with the English Department to embed library instruction into the University English course – the only mandatory course all students required to take. Since then, three different approaches have been adopted. In September 2017, the course went through a re-structuring process. The library took the chance to apply the ‘flipped classroom concept’. An online course was developed. Together with the assignment-specific content and interactive activities, the instruction program is a real success.
